What to expect:
Teams from all over will participate in the Spring Wood Bat Series.
For the 2-Day Events teams will arrive Friday night for team check in. All Teams will pay 2-games on Saturday seeding into Championship Sunday, 1 to 3 games. The participation fee is only $500 (which includes 1-Wood Bat supplied by Keep Swinging Bats. (You can pre-order more wood bats at a early-bird event discount, plus a $125 (field maintenance, baseballs and covers gate fee)

2018 WOOD BELT SERIES:
2018 WOOD BELT SERIES IS A SERIES OF BASEBALL EVENTS. THE EVENTS ARE STAND ALONE EVENTS THAT EARN POINTS FOR SEEDING FOR THE BELT CHAMPIONSHIP WEEKEND. EACH EVENT WILL CROWN A CHAMPION. FOR SEEDING IN BELT CHAMPIONSHIP WEEKEND TEAMS EARN 3 POINTS FOR A WIN AND 1 POINT FOR A LOSE PLUS 10 POINTS FOR A CHAMPIONSHIP.
EVENT GAME SCHEDULES:
EVENT GAME SCHEDULES WILL BE POSTED WEDNESDAY NIGHT 6PM BEFORE WEEKEND EVENT. THEY WILL BE EMAILED TO COACHES AND POSTED ON WEBSITE.

KING OF THE MOUND Baseball Rules January 2018
Unless noted prior to the event, National Federation High School Rules will be used with the following notations.
All Decisions are made Final on the Field of Play by Head Umpire, and his discretion alone to consult advice, (Tournament Director).
Age Requirement: May 1st, 2018 will be the designated date to determine ages.
Game Time: Starting time is forfeit time, unless delay is created by tournament officials. Game time starts at completion of the pre-game meeting.
Home Team: Determined by coin flip in pool play. Higher seed is awarded the choice of home team in playoffs and championship games. If two equal seeds meet then we will revert to a coin flip.
Event Director will meet with Coaches 30 minutes before game to decide home team get the next game ready.
Player Minimum: A team must start with a minimum of 8 players.
Championship Games: No time limit – Run rules are still in effect.
No pitching restrictions. The tournament expects coaches to use good judgment in using their pitchers safely.
Infield Warm-Ups: All teams are encouraged to warm-up as much as possible before game time; however, no practice may be taken on the infield prior to the game.
Baseballs: Each Team will provide 3 new Baseball, and will be given their balls after the game. We expect teams to assist in returning foul balls to umpires.
Bats: 14u and Younger: All bats -5 or greater must be stamped BPF 1.15. Must be a baseball bat – no restriction on weight or length as long as bat has “BPF 1.15” stamp. All -3 bats must be stamped BBCOR. Wood bats allowed. 15U and older – High School rules on bats. Bats will not be checked prior to the game. If a coach has a question about a bat, he may request umpire to check that particular bat. If the request for a bat check becomes too extreme and a mockery to the game, all bats from both teams will be checked. The time limit will continue to run during the bat check.
Time Limit for all games is based off registered teams. Game ends when innings or time expires. No new inning will start after the time limit has expired. In the inning where a time limit is reached the Home Team bats if the game is tied or they are behind. The game immediately ends if the home team gains the lead or 3 outs are made. If the home team has the lead when the visiting team makes 3 outs the game immediately ends. The game ends immediately if the home team is ahead and is batting when the time limit is reached.
A game tied at end of time limit will remained tied in pool play games. A bracket game tied at the end of the time limit will institute international tie breaker rule. The last batter from previous inning will start inning at 2nd base. If game is still tied after an inning of play, repeat until a winner is determined.
NUMBER OF INNINGS: 8u - 12u: 6 innings
14u - 18u: 7 innings
Mercy Rule for all ages is following:
15 runs after 3 innings
12 runs after 4 innings
8 runs after 5 innings
All ages may bat entire line up. Or may also chose to bat nine with an EH for 10 hitters. A DH is also allowed.
With two outs, a courtesy runner for pitcher or catcher is expected. MUST PARTICIPATE
All teams should be ready to play a minimum of 20 minutes prior to the start of all of their games.
The tournament director reserves the right to make changes to the schedule that are in the best interest of the tournament as a whole. Weather may play an issue and time limits may need to be adjusted. We will make every effort to provide all teams with best possible solution if games are adjusted because of weather issues.
Seeding - Tiebreaker Rules: Head-to-Head, runs allowed, runs differential, coin flip.
Field Dimensions
14u – 18u: 60/90
11u/12u: 50/70, 46/60-65
9u/10u: 46/60-65
Malicious Contact at any base is forbidden and automatic ejection.
Spikes/Shoes 8u - 12u rubber or plastic sheeted shoes only.
Official Scorebook is to be kept by the Home Team. The home team will be designated with a flip of a coin prior to the start of the game. Verify the game score at the end of every inning with the other team. If a discrepancy occurs, bring it to the attention of the umpires immediately.
Use of Tobacco Products is prohibited within game field fences, on all fields and in the dugouts.
Each coach must prepare 2 line-ups no later than 10 minutes prior to the game starting and give one to the opposing coach.
For rain-out purposes or Any "Act of God" (example - rain-out, tornado etc.) a game is complete after 4 innings (11u and older) 3 innings (10u and younger)
All Games that do not fit this requirement must go back to inning and at bat.
Maximum 3 hit-batters per pitcher per game for 11U-14U. (Umpire does have discretion)
9u/10u – Balks – Unlimited & Educational; Umpire's discretion. 11u-13u: One warning; 14u-18u: No warnings.
Unlimited Stealing & Lead-offs. Players may advance on dropped third strike. 9u: Only one steal per home on passed ball per inning.
The Tournament Director reserves the right to amend any rule, schedule, diamond location, format, combine age brackets, to accommodate time constraints, weather situations, etc.
All participants are competing at their own risk and by participating agree to hold KING OF MOUND, John Graham, Pete Miller, Keep Swinging Stix, all tournament Officials, all facilities, and all umpires harmless from any liability resulting from participation in the tournament.
Any player or coach ejected from a game will need to meet with the tourney director for potential further suspensions.
We sincerely appreciate your team’s assistance in keeping the parks clean. Please pick up your dugout and spectator areas after your games are done.
Standings will be posted at the main facility.
Physical confrontation - This tournament has "zero tolerance" for any physical confrontations by players, coaches, fans or anyone else. Upon the first violation, the violating party shall be removed from the facility and the tournament. Any profanity, verbal abuse, physical abuse by any player, coach or parent directed towards umpires, opposing teams, park officials or tournament officials will result in immediate team removal from the tournament as determined by the tournament director or his assistant directors.
Copy of Birth Certificates of all your players must be available along with tourney roster. These items should be on the coaches' possession. Failure to produce Birth Certificates when asked will result in Player being removed from Tournament, Team must forfeit game in play.

REFUND POLICY
REFUND POLICY
If for any reason as event does not happen or take place. Although this is rare, you have 2 options. 1. Have a credit for another event of equal value 2. 100% REFUND. Refunds will be processed the 1st Tuesday after the event. You will receive your refund the same way you paid. If you cancel or back out 1. 14 days or more of Event, you will receive a 100% Refund. 2. With in 8 to 13 days, you receive a credit for another event of equal value. 3. 7 days or less, NO REFUND. REFUND PROCESS MUST send an E-Mail to email address below. List Team Name, Coaches Name, Event Date and Location. Phone Call, Text or any other form of communication will NOT work MUST BE AN E-MAIL ([email protected]) WEATHER: If zero games are played your team will have a credit for another event of equal value. If one game is played your team will have a 75% credit for another event. If 2 or more games are played there is no credit. |
